The C&C taste tradition dates back to 1865, when C&C was founded in Belfast, Ireland. After moving to America in 1955, the company became known for its cone top cans that were lighter and more economical than glass bottles. Cone Top Flavours became an instant hit, and retained the same formulas when they were upgraded to “state-of-the-art” pull-top cans.
In 1962, C&C President Walter Mack (former president of Pepsi) called upon master flavour chemist John Ritchie (inventor of the Pepsi formula) to create a new flavour for C&C Cola. Mr. Ritchie’s popular Classic Cola formula remains to this day, and is a C&C staple.
